Kirtlington Park Hillcrest
Since its inception, Kirtlington Park has long held the title of Kwa-Zulu Natal's most sought-after equestrian estate. Developed by Morgan Creek Properties in 2000, investors from all around the country made their way to this residential development to purchase one of its spacious and large stands. With plot sizes averaging 1800m2, this gave homeowners the ability to build the beautifully designed homes you see today. With the additional space, stunning landscaped gardens and trees created privacy which is often something that is lacking in gated communities.
The estate has three villages - Kirtlington Park, Kirtlington Green, and Kirtlington Ridge. Kirtlington Park which is known for its many exclusively designed homes has its entrance at 56a Inanda Road, Hillcrest and some of its homes and paddocks can be seen when driving past. Kirtlington Green is located within Kirtlington Park near the stables and uses the same entrance. These are smaller homes that were built in a circular design to create a central and communal "green" area. Kirtlington Ridge is located higher up on the hill and overlooks Kirtlington Park. While internally the two sections are connected to each other by sharing a forest, The Ridge has a separate entrance at 33 Surprise Ridge Road.
The estate has a forest area where duiker and various other small wildlife can be seen when driving around. Visitors often comment on the big lush green paddocks that are placed throughout the estate and families and horses are often seen taking walks down the bridle paths. The picnic area by the dam is within the estate grounds so residents can safely enjoy a Sunday afternoon picnic without worry.
The equestrian section consists of 28 stables, a clubhouse for events, a tennis court, a dressage arena, a jumping arena as well as grooms' quarters. A big attraction to anyone who owns horses. For pet lovers, Kirtlington Park is one of the few estates whose Body Corporate Rules allows their owners to have both cats and dogs. A maximum of 2 pets is allowed per household and a registration process needs to be followed.
Security is of the utmost importance to the estate so residents can live easy knowing that they are protected thanks to the various security protocol in place. The staff is all in uniform to ensure residents and guests can Identify them easily as they are often seen patrolling. Regular fence inspections and advance access control ensure that only those with access will be allowed to enter the grounds.
