Eco Estate in Sun Valley

Lake Michelle Residential Security and Eco Estate offering a peaceful, private and unique lifestyle in Noordhoek, Cape Town.
The Estate is 90 hectares and is set in the heart of Noordhoek, bordering Table Mountain National Park, bordered by wetlands and with lovely mountain and water views. Central to the development is a 22 hectare lake in which one can swim, fish, sail and canoe. There are also 7 large ponds on the estate, which team with fish and birdlife and are criss-crossed with boardwalks to connect streets. Lots of common open spaces for residents to enjoy.
The Estate was built in distinct 2 phases, the first being about 20 years ago and the second phase much more recently. These phases are on opposite sides of the lake and a strict architectural code applies to the homes.
The second phase homes are all architect designed and built in a Cape Cod style with a colour palette that harmonizes with the environment and non-reflective roofing materials. Home exteriors need to conform to the guidelines however the interiors are as unique as you are - typically they have lovely double volume spaces with exposed trusses. Also typical are private and wind protected courtyards. An indigenous landscaping code applies to the second phase.
Houses are placed either on the edge of the lake, on one of the ponds, or overlook San Parks to the Chapman's Peak mountain and the sea. Those on the lake edge can build their own jetties at the bottom of the garden. There are also common jetties at the end of every road and in a few other places so that all residents have access to the lake for leisure activities. As the estate borders a nature reserve, we have a host of animals visiting us, including duiker, porcupines, Cape clawless otters. The birdlife is fantastic and the lake and ponds are also home to the protected Western Leopard Toad.
Lake Michelle Security has had a record of being excellent. There are 2 manned entrances with very strict access control (one for each of the phases), electric fencing, cameras and patrolling guards on bicycle, scooter and foot.
The estate is approximately 40 minutes from the Cape Town CBD with a choice of 2 routes to get there - live the holiday lifestyle all day every day yet not too far from town. The beautiful Noordhoek beach is close to the estate and we have some good schools and restaurants in the area. There are also 2 shopping centres, doctors rooms and other medical facilities and a Virgin Active gym 2 to 3 km away from the estate.
The Noordhoek area has a lovely old school rural charm with its horses and wide open spaces and friendly people.
